FFF sorry for rain of threads. But things just keep getting better and better.

As you all know by now, the official sport of the internet this week is speculation on what Valve will be showing off as their “surprise” at E3 next week.

The speculation could be coming an end now, thanks to a report over at VG247. According to what they call “a source close to VG247,” Valve will be revealing Source Engine 2 at E3 this year. Furthermore, their source speculated that Valve would show Half-Life 3 running on the new engine as well.

This would fit with Valve’s past showings, where Half-Life has been a feature. Half-Life debuted on GoldSource, and Half-Life 2 first appeared on the debut of Source.

We’ll have to wait until next week to be sure, but this is the first rumor I’ve heard that actually makes sense to me.

Umg umg new source and HL3 umg umg.

I half-doubt this.  I don't think Valve would show off Half Life 3 before the HL2 story is wrapped up.  And VG24/7 just doesn't seem that credible.  But the Source engine is getting quite old.  But Portal 2 seems to be using quite a bit of dynamic lights, and L4D2 looks fine.  I dunno.  Nevertheless, I want to see what's going on.

I hope all previous source games (including GMOD) gets updated with this new source.

Just like DoD to DoD: Source or CS to CS: source, right?  Games can't just be ported like that.

They said they were going to be making the next Half Life game Episode 3 not Half Life 3. I don't believe it

The gimmick is that you used "half-doubt" for a phrase describing an engine to be used on Half Life 3.
