Its gonna take a bunch of processing power to play portal 2

Dynamic lights, dynamic fluid, bumpmapping

Hey, the PS3 and Xbox 360 have mediocre specs compared to the average PC of today. So, I'd feel bad for the people that have to play this on consoles Because they'll either have toned down graphics, lag, or both.

Also, the waters just the same old flat plane with a water shader on it. It's not dynamic.

Unless you're talking about that orange goop, in which case isn't fluid. They're just metaball particles which give the easy illusion of water. Metaballs are easy to simulate and are not processor heavy.

And bump mapping and dynamic lighting is old technology. We've seen it in L4D and such.

It is in not so long, and PORTAL 2 DOESN'T RUN ON AN ALL NEW SOURCE ENGINE, FFS.

what the hell makes you think the ps3 or 360 are better then the average pc lol.
console gaming is complete horsestuff compared to PC. and even cheaply PCs can play nearly any game on max settings.
portal 2 isn't exactly over the top graphics.

also, half life 2's physics actually makes the 360 lag. how embarrassing.

This.

I can actually play Portal with max settings, 16xAA and 16xQAF while maintaining a bare minimum of 50fps on my year and a half old laptop. I'd like to see a console do that.

I think it's funny how many people jumped at him for saying the console game will be better than the PC version.
