Ask any competent adult today. They don't like it either.
My mom says otherwise without anyone asking about it.

I know the excuse for this obviousleh is "then she's not a competent adult".

I was using a situation where a parent would openly tell their child how they feel about what they do. It's hurtful, and no parent would tell you that to your face.
