Well i The Workers are using Crowbars and The Combine are using stunsticks like in the game.
So the melee weapons are right.

The Combine are an advanced race of aliens that sent another alien race (headcrabs, other aliens) to Earth to take Earth. The guys with the stunsticks are the civil protection. In the first Half-life the guys in Black Mesa were Marines, They killed the scientists because once they failed to close the portal the country wanted to cover-up the Black Mesa inccident.
