Long ago when Intereplay was going through money issues they sold the fallout license to Beth, giving the abandoned Van Buren stuff. Beth decided to make a game from scratch. In the end made a game with the title of Fallout, a wasteland, guns, and gameplay similar to oblivion. |

And the different leveling systems and the use of VATS makes both games pretty different. |
