Everything is Vanilla for me. Partly because I hate unlocks, and partly because I craft everything I get.

I agree about the FaN but the Sandman has its moments. It's good for escaping from Heavies or getting rid of people capping your point. Bonk is great at times too. I don't like Crit-a-Cola either, it's good for sneak attacks, but those aren't very easy without Bonk or luck.

Flare gun is useless underwater or against other pyros.

Although both of those are true, it gives the Pyro some nice range.

+health on hit? Why wouldn't I use it.

It reduces your health regeneration, though not by much.

I'm laughing at the fact that of all unlocks, the FaN is probably hated by the most people (or is at least second to the Huntsman), and you hate more unlocks than anyone I've ever seen.

--- Quote from: Dusty12 on June 17, 2010, 10:10:36 PM ---Bonk! is stupid regardless. You swap your only long range support for some fizzy situational drink.

--- End quote ---

1. Run near concentration of enemies (while taking care not to get within their line of sight/fire)

2. Use Bonk if necessary (for sentries, Heavies, etc.)

3. Run behind them

4. Sneak attack (Either take out as many enemies as you feel comfortable with before retreating or scout out (no pun intended) the Intelligence or next cap point, possibly even capture them)

It may be situational, but so are all unlocks. I change loadouts constantly to adapt to the current situation. I don't know if everyone here posting their loadouts are just posting the ones they use most often or if they never change from them, but I suggest doing what I do.

These strategies work for me, results may vary

PM me the locations of these vanilla/no unlock servers.

I play battle medic, so I'd rather gain health during combat.
Also, inevitable:

10:22 PM - [WKH] Sue: Dumbass
10:22 PM - [WKH] Sue: Blutsauger is for bad medics
10:22 PM - ACTION EXPLODIUM: D:
10:23 PM - [WKH] Sue: You drop health regen by 3
10:23 PM - [WKH] Sue: Fire does 4
10:23 PM - [WKH] Sue: A normal medic could survive
10:23 PM - ACTION EXPLODIUM: health regen doesnt help when I'm in actual combat
10:23 PM - [WKH] Sue: YOU'RE A MEDIC
10:23 PM - [WKH] Sue: YOU'RE NOT SUPPOSED TO BE IN COMBAT
10:23 PM - ACTION EXPLODIUM: I play battle medic
10:23 PM - [WKH] Sue: FASF
10:23 PM - ACTION EXPLODIUM: Blut is for battle medics
10:24 PM - ACTION EXPLODIUM: I heal people but I don't make it my only job

I'd rather have a hitscan weapon than a projectile one.

Both of those are personal preferences though.
