It's a slowly depleting resource, that's bad. Also, who gives a rat's ass about the environment? People only care now because it's starting to show the damage we've done, it's a little late.

the sun is burning up. as it burns, it creates a vacuum inside because it burns all matter. because of that vacuum, it pulls things around it in very slowly. earth is getting pulled in by the vacuum.

The main reason why they haven't been able to plug it is because they are trying to save the oil well. The company wants to use the same hole to get more oil. They should just completely forget about the oil and plug it, and then drill somewhere else in the area.
