You would have looted it, unless your inventory was full, seeing as selling it nets you a pretty penny.
That's what I was thinking, and since I did the quest near the beginning of the game I probably would have looted it because I looted everything for gold at that point.  Also, if I still have it then it's the stuffty low level version.

I forgot to mention the best benefit of being a mage.
You can use a charm 100 for 3 seconds on touch, and fortify mercantile 100 pts for 2 seconds on self spell.
get the best bang for your buck.
and if the person gives you lip
frenzy lvl 25 for 60 seconds on touch and then paralyze them and take their inventory.

yeeeah
badass

Don't weapons level with you?

go dungeon crawling

FACK, I was just gonna do the Cyrodill main... ugh... What do I do? Idk what dungeons Ive finished and what i haven't

Yeah, I really only started doing quests with leveled rewards at level 30, with the exception of things like the Umbra quest since it's not leveled.

Dungeons respawn after 3 days.  If you want high rewards, go to Sinkhole Cavern just outside of the Imperial city, since it has a boss-level chest at the end and all the bandits in there carry good weapons and armor for your level.

It's also a good place to level your sneak, since the bandits are relatively easy to sneak up on.  If you're a low level you might need to go barefoot, but don't worry because you won't get hit in the feet that often.

And the arena, that's great for leveling up and is fine to do at a lower level.
