It's rude to say, but grow a pair and just suck it up.
Believe me, there will be more embarrassing moments in life than this where shyness will greatly hold you back.
All it takes is a little walk to their door, knock on it and politely ask if they have any little odd-jobs that you could do for them. Ask them if they'd like their grass cut or their car washed or their dog taken for a walk.

You don't have to ask for money or say that it'll cost you this. They'll pay you afterwards since that's the normal thing. Even if that particular neighbour doesn't pay you in money, you're pretty much definitely going to get some sort of reward, which is always nice to be rewarded for doing some work.

Sir, you don't understand. My neighbourhood has careless parents. They let their children stay outside ALL DAY ( which they stay outside ALL DAY ) and don't come in until dinner/food/thirsty/bed. They don't care, man. The only 2 people who care in this neighbourhood, are the 2 houses beside us. 1 house on the right of us, and the house on the left of us. The one on the right, is Rudy. He plays in The Drifters, or used to, and he is REAL nice. Micheal, their house, they don't do stuff, they do it themselves. :c
