Some weapons (specifically ones you can't get via achievements) you can get through crafting certain things.
For example, you can craft Bonk and a Kritzkreig for the Crit-o-Cola.

True, it'd be a tough choice to switch to the SH for most pubbers. The wrench, like all weapons, gets a boosted crit rate from firing, and since you're constantly whacking buildings, it's usually always maxed out at 25% (15% + 10%). However, I usually play on nocrits servers when I can, and therefore the crit disability doesn't really affect my playstyle.
