Yes you can.
I just noticed a few Engies with the SH removing sappers on the Hightower map.

I saw someone with the robot hand on.
It looks so loving cool. The dude also had the shield and he would lay down a mini sentry and aim it at people.
Engineer is a badass robot pirate

Then explain why when I was helping engies farm as spy, I put a sapper on his sentry and he whacked it with that thing for a good 4 swings and the sapper didn't fall off.

I've seen the spikey wrench i don't know the name of remove them, Seems to take a bit longer though.
