How to clean a badly scratched/damaged GC Disk?

Any toothpaste is ok, except crystals. You'll see them in it. If you can't, it's ok.

If you live in the UK, go to gamestation or gamestop, they either give you a new disk, or repair it for you.

Guys, the toothpaste forgeted up the disk even more. I can't even use mapmaker or story mode. Or anything without it giving me that error. (1st post)

I wouldnt have tried either one if I was you, but if I was forced I would have used the banana, not the toothpaste :/
