Author Topic: Your armory.  (Read 10593 times)

We don't use M16's in the armed forces anymore, we upgraded to the M4 series, so it is probably a legit M16A1. Secondly, we also don't use AR--15's anymore. Well, we actually never have. Regardless, I'm pretty sure soldiers can take their war rifle home with them after returning from service.
Unless he got it confused with the M14 soldiers get at boot camp.

We've had the M4 since before the first Gulf War. In fact it was issued to special forces details in Vietnam like the MACV-SOG. (originally a prototype called the XM177, later the CAR-15) Also we've had the M16 A2 in the armed forces since the early 1980s when the Marine Corps adopted it.

Police barracks usually keep an armory of AR-15s. So saying we never used the prototype for the M-16 is completely false. In some states you can buy and AR-15 with the .223 rounds.

Next up is: No you can't take home a service rifle because 1) US Government issued property 2) You're only allowed a sidearm, which you can pay buy yourself. Of course it has to meet the standards the military has on that, otherwise you're likely to get an M9.

In fact we use the M16 A4 these days over in Iraq and Afghanistan.

dude... how do you know how old i am ... idiot
Let's see:

1) You keep adding a hyphen to M16
2) You called the 7.62x51mm NATO the 7x76 nato
3) The M16 uses 5.56x45mm NATO

edit:
you dont know how old i am moron idiot cigarette
This was sent to me in a private message. Please do not do this again. Just accept that you are not old enough to be in the military.

Didn't know a lot of this

I was talking about the marines. Of course there are civilian and police AR-15's, I almost bought a 5.56 a few months ago.

I knew the policy on sidearms but I completely forgot that first point
In fact we use the M16 A4 these days over in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Should have been more specific, I was talking about the M16A1
I got schooled.

Wooden Sword
Wooden Dagger
Wooden Shield
Broken Arrow (Carve it into a spear?)

I did too when I asked a friend who got out of the Marines in 2005, when he gave me some trivia on the M-16. My family is full of people that read tons of history and go to museums like the NRA's, Springfield Armory, Smithsonian's.

But yeah best to know info about the cool stuff so that recruiters don't lie to your face and tell you something you'll regret.

Well they should be, otherwise you got cheap arrows. The real strength behind a bow (IF you use quality ammunition) is in the limbs.

Animals
fists
12 guage pump shotgun
Non working submachine gun
Sawn off Double Barrel Burcoda Italian shotgun
30 cal rifle
Military grade rifle
Old grenades that don't work
Plastic rocket launcher
Sledge hammer
Powertools
Old muffler

A fold-out knife with a picture of Alaska on it
A DB shotgun I found in my closet
Nerf darts with needles in 'em, plus nerf gun
Bright Orange baseball bat
Band rifle I can hit things with

He beat me to it... Dammit. That is everything I was going to say.

EDIT: Yuki I see where you must have gotten confused with the M16A1, We don't use them anymore, in fact we either sold them or gave them to foreign countries because I saw a picture of a US marine with an A1 training Egyptian? (don't quote me on that) troops., The M16A2 is still the primary rifle for the Navy and Airforce. And the M16A4 like Ronin said is now the Main battle rifle for the Marines and Army.
