im on a metal table, theres nothing blocking the fan and i dont have compressed air

Put your laptop near your AC vent. Or you could lay off the HD research.

Open it up, if you can, and look around. Look for people with the same problem on the web. Buy compressed air.

are you working the graphics card too hard?

Use cooling pad or a cookie cooling rack to maximize air flow
Fixed my overheating problems

i got a new heatsink for my laptop.

the unit was a wierd fan + copper cpu sink + copper gpu sink all in one.
but it was easy to swap out.
mgiht just need a newer or better one.

get some nice spendy 20dollar thermal cement

are you working the graphics card too hard?
im playing hl2 for like 30 minutes then it starts going into hibernate mode

ill consider getting one if opening up the laptop then cleaning it wont do anything

you should put it in ice water when you play

Laptop in question would be?

Get an external cooling fan or prop the back up (so that it's leaning towards you) on something like the edge of a thick book to get air flowing under it

I had the same problem, actually ended up frying something vital in my laptop's keyboard because I let it overheat too many times and had to get a replacement

I just keep mine on a Frisbee and a bowl lol
it keeps it from over heating and it didn't cost a dime B)

i got compressed it and fixed it now locking
