She also says I can't play games that have realistic people fighting, or if the game is all about fighting. She doesn't understand I need fighting games to blow off steam.

Your mother is one of those Bible thumping idiots that thinks if her child sees so much as a bullet that is just sitting on a table you'll instantly turn into a psychopath murderer and will kill everyone around you or take her car for a joy ride.

The only games that don't feature violence these days are games that only little children play. Tell her you're actually mature enough for the games and you are aware of the very clear and huge line between video games and reality.

Most games like Half Life 2 or Alien Swarm don't even focus on player versus player gameplay. Just about every Valve game aside from Counter Strike and Team Fortress 2 pits you against what is generally stereotyped as "evil". The Combine for instance can be related to the national socialist Regime, and killing national socialists isn't exactly bad now is it?

Could someone sum what all the posts have said in 1, Clean, post? I would like to show it to my mom but if she sees a lot of bad language she would ban me from this site.

This is why I can't play Half Life (I don't support this review).

--- Quote ---Parents need to know that this well-produced adult game is not for kids under any circumstances -- hence the "Off" rating. This story turns on the struggle between an alien-installed fascist government and a group of scrappy scientists trying to liberate the human race. It's non-stop gore and violence. From the first scenes, it graphically depicts the oppressive regime and drips with dark dread -- innocent travelers are brutalized by faceless police, citizens cower as their neighbor's homes are searched, and remnants of happier times -- such as a teddy bear abandoned near a swing set -- litter the environment. It's simply too graphic, too intense, and too scary for kids.

Just copy paste them all into notepad and clean them up.

Make sure you triple check it though.

Edit:

Bahaha at the above article.

It's not that intense, Unless you over brown townyze it and blow everything out of proportion which I doubt a young child would do.
