Even though you don't start developing a sense of morality until you're around 16 years old. I played Perfect Dark, Goldeneye, and DOOM when I was a child and I'm no serial killer, I understand that it's wrong to kill. Common sense distinguishes reality from game, and any good parent would know that it's not the media that shapes their children, it's what they teach them.

The only games that don't feature violence these days are games that only little children play. Tell her you're actually mature enough for the games and you are aware of the very clear and huge line between video games and reality.
Most games like Half Life 2 or Alien Swarm don't even focus on player versus player gameplay. Just about every Valve game aside from Counter Strike and Team Fortress 2 pits you against what is generally stereotyped as "evil". The Combine for instance can be related to the national socialists, and killing national socialists isn't exactly bad now is it?
