Steam Servers down right now? PLEASE HELP

Steam says I have no connection, but I have connection to the internet.
Is Steam down or something? I'm not sure how to tell if they are down or not, so Thats why im saking here
Its allowing me on the store and on community but it says no connection. Why? It says my friends are online but when I meesage them it says they're offline, without changing their status.

Steam Friends just sometimes randomly drops.
Don't fret, chances are you can still play games online and with your friends but messaging them is just down for a bit.
It very frequently does this.
