I think what it really comes down to are influences we didn't have when we were like, 6-12 years old. I had PS1 and eventually PS2, not Xbox360. Also, my mom didn't let me buy any violent war games until I got a 360, and even then she's a bit touchy on it (I usually won't play BC2 if she's in the room with me for her sake). Basically, my parents raised me right; they made sure I didn't get ahead of myself and do stupid things, and gave me enough chores to the point where I learned the value of hard work and don't mind it as much as other kids do.
The way I see littler kids being raised now is with little emphasis on hard work and getting your work done before playing games. Way too many of them play violent games and go online. I probably started to seriously join forums and stuff when I was 14, not when I was 7. Also, the influences of the older generation are different. When I was around 6 or 7, my older cousins and my sister listened to Sugar Ray or the Backstreet Boys or something, not some vulgar stuff they call rap. What it really comes down to is bad parents and bad influences.
