They make the circuit boards out of recycled garbage or something.

Ignore Menen, he's one of the ass-clowns that comment on videos before watching them.

This is loving awesome, albeit insanely expensive.

Sounds pretty cool, my only concerns would be semi-trailer trucks and other very heavy vehicles, and traction (Not only dry, but also in rain, snow, and ice).

Lets see whats wrong with this picture.

I am not going to give a full opinion on this until I get exact details on how this will be made possible.  First of all, even the most tiny remote crack on the glass could spark a fire.  They said it was water proof supposedly and is very powerful glass, but imagine a crack.  Will it spark a fire?  Will it spark a little problem there?  I cannot judge this.  What about another remote, away from public place?  Some people may find it a joke to mess with the part of the road and get away with it.  Another thing is that it is not just something to slap onto the world, it is producing electricity.Electricity causes fires derp.  That could probably cost lots of money considering lots of things that produce electricity cost a lot of money.  Solar panels are one of them.  I don't care if it is recycled or not, it is going to cost a lot.  How about repairing a simple crack, you have to replace that big plexiglass casing to get rid of that simple crack.  Another thing that I simply don't like is flashy things up in my face.  Of course, flashy things bother me only and that is my personal opinion.  You may like flashy things, I don't

I wish they got a little more detail on how they are going to make this possible.  I simply think this is a bad idea, unless they have something else to prove my opinion on this otherwise.

Heat = Expands

Cold = Compress
Just proving that this could happen.

Seems like a good concept, but executing it seems it would prove to be difficult.

Explain how you could start a fire in the middle of a sheet of glass. Glass is not flammable.

I think you missed the part where he says it would power itself cause it's a SOLAR PANEL.

-Snip-

As far as cost of initial installation and maintenance; I could see funding one stretch of road and allowing it to allocate money, then saving that money for repairs another stretch of road. As far as the flammable argument goes; how would a crack spark a fire? Since when did a crack in glass cause a fire? Not to mention the point of solar panels is to generate electricity somewhere else, not within the panel itself.

EDIT: Dkamm got me on the glass.

Woops.  I'm saying the wiring will probably catch one, considering there will be more of it.

That still makes no sense.

Water and electricity running actively through wires..?
