Minecraft. Well, when I started alpha. I make tree house first day for a temp stay. I go up and place torches. I wait. Sun comes up and makes a blowing noise. Partial scare because I didn't know what it was. I go mining and hit mossy cobblestone. Then footsteps. I run and creeper goes kaboom. I die. |

I use to play those nasty ones on somewhat dark, putting in a low volume instrumental Power Metal piece. Believe me when I say it will scare you much more, since you can't possibly spot enemies due to low brightness and the music makes you calm... but still you know there are enemies which can crawl up from behind anytime which creates somewhat like terror in your mind. |
