1st section: All metals and spares
2nd section breakdown:
Columns 1-9, each column three units long in height; items used for every class in order of the class selection screen. Items not "equipped" are dependent on situation (i.e. natascha is used only in arenas/scout fests or MAD 35% crits server)
Bottom row beneath each class 'column'; hat for each class. If no hat is present then a fits-all hat is used.
Right column, entire length; "rares" as defined by the site. Badge and fits-all hats.
fits all hats are hats that can be worn by any class.

I just crafted a hat the other day (my Mining Light), smelting worked fine

smelting as in turning reclaimed/refined into lower level metals
