I sadly have never played Morrowind. It seems good. But I really enjoyed Oblivion.
Perhaps you haters are just thinking of it as a comparison, because it really is a great game.

If you like being a baby with your hand held then Oblivion is superior. If you are a man that likes hot women then Morrowind is superior. That is my completely unbiased opinion.

I remember playing Morrowind about four years ago, and it was pretty awesome, although I didn't really understand it, I'm going to find it again, and play.
