I am very curious as to what this country would be like if everyone voted on bills to be passed, like an election is held but for bills instead for example.
that's what an actual democracy is and I'm guessing that most people don't care enough / don't have the time to keep up with that sort of thing, hence the election of senators and representatives to do it for us

I wouldn't say filthy rich. He makes about $400,000 year. That's a great deal over the average, yes, but compared other salaries, it isn't much. :o
I meant that the majority of the tax dollars doesn't only go to the president. Sorry if my post was a bit misleading.

Oh I see

We have a Republic because 1. it is more efficient and 2. it allows the tyranny of the majority problem to partially go away. The Bill of Rights is another thing that stops the tyranny of the majority.

wtf

The president's salary is $400,000 a year. That's the only money that goes to the president. The White House is a different story. The entire executive branch gets more.

A government where every one voted for a Bill would be too hard to keep track of for a nation as large as the US. Votes would be misplaced, missing, and very hard to count. They also did this with Rome, considering that they were conquering quite a good amount of land.

When I end up getting a job if all goes to plan my starting salary will be something like $30,000 which when living in CA is the equivalent of showing up to get your paycheck and being handed a bag of bread and some canned soup.

Rome was no longer a republic after Caesar. After he declared himself emperor, the old Roman republic was no more.

they only get mad because they are haters
but not because he is black or anything

Obama gets mad when liberal ideas that can harm the country but be good for him are exposed to the American public.

Whenever his daughter plays golf, he doesn't look that serious anymore...
Or sometimes at his many of parties.
Paid for with taxpayer's taxes.
