Is earthbound ever going to reach the Wii's virtual console?

I have never played earthbound before, and i was hoping i could first experience it on the virtual console. It seems that nintendo has not released it yet, and it is a well known cult classic. what is the deal?

They are not, not only does the head of North America's nintendo hate everything made by Hal Laboratories, it would have copyright issues.
