It gets annoying seeing several people say "alt" for nearly no reason at every single thread made by someone who says they're new. As for the belief that only alts make "I'm new" threads, I made one when I was new. ...Technically it was a month late, but I did.

No, it's actually not. If somebody is suspicious, you could report him and Badspot or Ephi could check his IP and match it.
