It's okay, but it's not very good. That's fine though as everyone needs a starting point. If you want to improve, I would suggest that you re-make it, however, try and keep in mind the actual structures of a house. What does your house look like? Is it two floors high, is it a bungalow, is it an apartment? Try to make two different walls on each side. One for the outside, and one for the inside. Give it nice outside colours, for the outside wall and perhaps build it in a brick style; [ ][ ][ ][ ] [ ][ ][ ] [ ][ ][ ][ ]If you make those bricks the 1x2x1's or the 1x4x1's, the wall will look really good, especially if you choose two close matching colours. Two shades of red or gray? You should then build normal walls on the inside. And then you can do different coloured walls for different rooms inside. You should go to different servers and look at buildings with two floors. Ask for someone to show you how to do stairs and make a second floor, then repeat the walls from below. Your house will start to look great in no time. I always like to practice with different styles for rooves. Try using the different ramp bricks in different ways. Your roof is actually really nice though. Once you've done your walls for the actual building, you can try new windows. Instead of using the clear glass brick, try building your window out of transparent coloured bricks. The windows will look really proffesional. With your garden, try and experiment with different things. What sort of stuff do you have in your garden? Perhaps a BBQ is something to build. Or things like trees, a pond, if you want, even a swimming pool. Just mix it up and have fun. Your building looks great for now, but you can always improve and you certainly will do with time. If you post pictures of your build on the forum, it would be best to get more than one. Different pictures of different parts. THe sides, the walls, the garden, the inside. Everything that's good about your build. You should also try uploading your images to an imagehosting website. www.photobucket.com or www.imageshack.com are both good websites to do this. You'll need an account on Photobucket though, but it's all free. That way, you can post many different images on the forums, and we won't need to open them up like your one above. Congratulations on your build though. You'll be building like a pro in no time! |

I just remember starting out and having really poor building skills. I'm not top-notch now, I just try to remember things that I've been told by older builders while I was still new. I fail to remember most of them usually, though. I quite often fail to use two different walls and stuff or I get sizings wrong. I just like to think that I did improve though because I was given advice by other people, and I'd like to give out the same advice to others in the hope that it helps them improve. Just passing on the helpfullness I recieved when I was new. And thanks for the architect compliment. :) I wouldn't feel safe being an architect though. One fatal flaw in your design and people lives could be at stake in your hands. Too much pressure for just wanting to build things. |
