However, you ask money for an add-on, not directly, not forced but you still ask it in a more secretive way. But i guess Baddy's okay with your idea. But yeah, you should do that. --- End quote --- He's not forcing you in any way. You can still get the normal RTB with all of it's current feature for free. He's just asking for people to donate, then they get a badge and a few features. It's like some games real money item malls, you don't have to use it, but it isn't required to play. I think if I was constantly putting money into something I would at least want donations for my hard work. |

Having free eggs and milk from the cows and chickens in my yard would be very handy. --- End quote --- I know it's a joke, but raising chickens ends up costing far more than you save on eggs. The eggs taste better, though. |

I don't think how much money you're willing to pay should define who you get to play with. As for payment options - I think I'll go with PayPal and Amazon as the two options. I will also accept the delivery of live farm animals as payment if PayPal or Amazon are not possible. --- End quote --- I'd rent a dedicated server if a trusted source like RTB were offering it. There are currently few servers of merit with consistent uptime and dutiful moderation. It is already possible for most people to host their own servers, thanks to recent updates made to BL, so offering such a service wouldn't encroach upon number and/or variety of servers available to players. If anything, a player consistently paying for a dedicated server is more likely to maintain and be active in it, as are the players who can then come to rely on the server being online and their creations being ever visible to other players. If you created a simple way to setup a paid, dedicated server through RTB, I'd be in line for renting one. Your experience and resources in relation to the RTB service make you the ideal person to setup such a service. "Owners" could choose from the add-ons already being hosted by RTB, and presumably all of the other server options would be available as well. The idea has merit, and I believe it is worth a second thought. |

I hosted a dedicated while playing online games like Borderlands and was able to host with no one reporting any lag. Except keeping my loud gaming rig on overnight isn't exactly in my plans. |

They can also suffer from a lack of available bandwidth should the host try to use his connection for other tasks. A game hosted remotely is generally not subject to either of those limitations. |
