Re-Started Modelling - Decent weapon model?

I worked that out for myself after finding out that HEXAGON wasn't a shape in ms3d. 6 point cylinder = hexagon.

Make a square, and bevel it.

Create a cube.



Use Shift - R mouse button, to deselect the center:



Go to the Extrude Panel, and click the lower Extrude button once:



Then go to the Scale tab, L-Click, then move your mouse in the general direction of the diagonal line, from bottom to top.



Make sure the cube looks like this^^ in top/bottom view.

Make sure you are in face selection mode.
