It's running on the release build, and is much longer than a demo. It's a prologue to DR2 that allows players to play it before DR2 is actually released.

No it's not, a review I read states that it isn't running up to par to the latest build.

Possibility for error. If it is a pre-release build, it will still be finished, it's not like you're playing the alpha version of the game with glitches and stuff.
