Nah, I don't think it would be laggy.
You can also just make it very simple, no?

It would pretty much be copying what I have right now and turning it into a collision mesh.

The faces of the collision mesh wouldn't be rendered so that means no lag at all?

So, does this vehicle perform like a car in space stations? Or will it perform like a jet?

When you say "so it can move" it sounds like "so it can move because it has wheels."
