An equivalent Windows computer would cost at least around $1200.

Significantly more then a pc that would run it at the same speed. 3D games running in mac OSX have to use open GL which means that for the same hardware, running the games in windows would result in nearly a 2x jump in performance. In short running the games on a mac mean they will run half as well as a pc with the same hardware because Direct X is just so significantly better then open GL

No.
The graphics card is horrid. You NEVER want an Intel graphics card. Intel may be good for processors, but in no way are they good with their cards.
Do you have a specific budget? I have a nice HP that can run TF2 on max bookmarked, and if I saw what your price range is, I could show you.
