beginning of a battle =/= mid battle In past games the Pokemon would do an animation and remain static for the duration of the battle. In the upcoming games they ditched that and Pokemon are constantly moving. |

It's true that Crystal animations had more frames than sprites in other games, but 2 frames is enough for the sprites to be classified as animated. |
