SIM cards contain a minimal amount of storage, as their only purpose is to carry contacts and service profiles. The information on a SIM card is unique to the customer and his or her provider. microSD cards are pure flash storage, but do not contain internal memory controller, which is instead placed in the device. Many memory cards function this way. iPhones have a microSIM slot, but not a microSD slot. They're both essentially forms of flash storage, the difference is in the capacities and functions of each. |

Maybe better SD cards would solve this problem, because stuff is so cheaply made today. --- Quote from: Xerces on January 28, 2011, 03:11:51 PM ---SIM cards contain a minimal amount of storage, as their only purpose is to carry contacts and service profiles. But if I'm correct, I think SIM cards could support this with enough memory. Now, if you want to talk about other phones to compare this to them, I can gladly do so. Flip phones won't support this, due to the controls being to primitive for gameplay. Any keyboard phones might be able to play this, but at a poor quality. Androids might be able to support this enough for a decent enough gameplay. You got a touch screen gameplay and a keyboard that has an ALT button, opening up more commands. The Android also has internal memory and SD Card Memory, not SIM. Now for the other IPhones, I could help you there. |

Where it could, by some chance, may be possible (I recall a Torque Engine port, or at least Game Builder port, to the iPhone a long time ago), there's no way you can play such an intricate game on such a tiny screen. Besides, a demanding game like Blockland would wipe the battery out in an instant. Why do you think Apple dumped Flash? It wasn't to be 'oppressive', it was because Flash is very demanding. It might be fine on purely feature phones like an Android (hooray! I can watch ads on my phone and have my battery die twice as fast!), I wouldn't want a game like this on a phone. |
