What to not do while you has braces:

Don't chew gum - Agreed

Don't screw with them - What?

Don't eat hard Chips - Best type :D

Eat soft foods for the next 3 days - That helps...

Limit Soda intake - Big deal...metal doesn't dissolve...much

Try not to drink Tea or Coffee - Why? I was explicitly told to only drink that and water...

Don't chew gum - twice?

Don't eat hard candy (Suckers are fine) - Correction: Don't BITE hard candy...it's all suckable. Lasts longer too.

Take Advil or Motrin to relieve pain (I dealt with the pain without pain reliever) - It doesn't hurt that much...

Don't eat corn on the cob (Cut the corn off) - Haven't tried...don't think I will either.

All these are just stupid precautions. If the damn thing is put in properly, it can suffer the torment of brushing teeth so why not "hard chips". In my opinion the whole rules thing is overrated...apart from the gum one...
