Well I did see this one news-a-majigger about how this one old british woman dumped someone's cat into a wheelie bin (under surveillance, mind you) because "she thought it was a stray". She even pet it before doing so. Needless to say, a bunch of animal lovers protested about the woman's acts.

I see no rational reason besides that the woman is either a grumpy old coot who is resentful of everything or just plain crazy.
