Milkshape Or Blender

Everyone has their opinions. Everyone has their reasons.

RFW2:

I prefer milkshape. I tried Blender, and I agree with heed. Milkshape is better for guns, ect. But if you're really good at blender, then it can be better for things like vehicles.

takato14:

Blender is:

More powerful than milkshape
More straightforward than milkshape
More user-friendly
Capable of making far better models than milkshape
More cost-effective than milkshape

Some actual specifics:

Blender adds shading automatically
Blender's exporter is more stable and organized
Blender can use 4 verticies for faces instead of just 3 (easy way to reduce polycounts)
Blender has an amazingly powerful animating system comparable to that of 3D Studio and Maya
Blender's UI is a lot easier to understand than milkshapes; I tried milkshape and I couldnt figure anything out without a tutorial, and with blender I was actually able to make part of my model without a tutorial.

Which is why I use it. Oh, and there's an epicly perfect sticky'd tutorial for it at the top of General Modification Help which explains litterally EVERYTHING you'll need to do to get models in game.

Blender rocks.

What's funny is you don't even know what Milkshape does. Blender is on 3 vertices, while Milkshape is on four. Atleast, from what I heard. Only the beta allows a cool interface that is easier to control, but even then, it's hard to learn. Milkshape has a simple interface. I do believe some people said the Blender exporter is a bit buggy, but I'm not sure on that.

Blender uses 4 vertices, NOT milkshape.
