Help me pick a game!

I give Halo 3 a 1/10 because i like the noise the bullet makes when it moves away from the gun.
And i give Halo: Reach a 2/10 because the gun noises still do that but this time it has more graphics.

Aka because someone who's popular (random magazines omg omg omg omg) said it's good it has to be good.
Ever heard of opinions? I don't think you would buy a game about Barbie just because its ratings are high, now would you?
