it basically means if you catch a zubat and then see another one elsewhere just go like "forget that" and kill it

If you catch a Zubat, if the first Pokemon you see in another area is a Zubat it doesn't have to be the one you can catch. So you can catch the next Pokemon you meet (granted it's not a Zubat).

since gen IV when your pokemon has 1 hp it will say "X survived the poisoning!"
