Garrys Mod
Garrys mod is a physics simulator that allows players to spawn objects from other games to create contraptions, pose ragdolls to make a comic, or to just line up a bunch of bad guys and shoot them all with custom guns.
Building
Garrys mod utilizes many games that use the source engine, so you can use props, vehicles, npc’s, weapons and ragdolls from different games. By hitting Q on your keyboard, you can bring up an organized menu that allows you to spawn items, guns, npc’s and ragdolls.
Once you have spawned one of these, you can use the Physics gun to move them into position, and you can right click to freeze them and hold them in place.
After you have done this, you can add extra things like elastics, ropes, pulleys and much more. You can also weld objects so they move together. This is useful for creating things like catapults, cars or even planes. Garry’s mod also uses the Havok physics engine so you can experience things in correct physics.
Posing
Garry’s mod not only allows you to play with props from the game, but it also lets you spawn ragdolls. Once you have spawned one, you can use the physics engine to freeze certain parts of the body into place, take screenshots with the camera tool, and then you can make a comic later. The game also supplies you with post processing effects, so you can make neat and detailed screenshots.
Combat
Garry’s mod is not only about building and posing, many players like fighting against the computer, aka npcs, because it can be done in a varity of fun and defferent ways.
You can also manipulate some of the npcs ai, like you can disable it temporarily to avoid them fighting each other, or you can make them ignore the player. This is useful so you can line up a bunch of npcs and props, and then watch them battle it out in great detail without getting shot at. You can also download extra weapons, so you can kill people in even MORE ways.
Garry’s mod is defiantly one of the best games for fun out there. You can do almost anything you want. There are so many things you can do in this game it would take a whole book to list them. However, garry’s mod tends to crash a lot, and it also can have VERY long load times, it also requires a powerful computer.
My suggestion is that you buy it yourself and try it out.

Well, at least I tried. I read what you said about a mega thread being something that contains much information on a subject, but I guess ill start typing up my own stuff. For now Ill just leave this here.
