Author Topic: Religious Knowledge Survey: Atheists and Agnostics Score the Highest  (Read 15675 times)

My cousin belives the entire bible is bullstuff besides god being pinned to a cross yet he still defends christianity like a rabid pitbull

Think about it, wouldn't being a "super religious freak" be worth eternal salvation, if that's what you believe?
Nope, because religion is a belief. I don't think religion should be a way of life. If you could go to your friends birthday party or go to church on sunday, go to your friends birthday party. It's more loyal to your friend, beneficial to you and beneficial to your friends. Going to church is pretty much only being loyal to god, and if it interferes with your regular life... well, it shouldn't

Actually I just wrote an essay about religion and how it shouldn't interfere with your way of life. It was about africans that killed their family members because of religion, and I said it was loving stupid that they let religion overtake them.

god being pinned to a cross
OHOHOHO, it's funny because this thread is about atheists being more religiously knowledgeable then Christians.

Yes I'm aware that God = Jesus = Holy Spirit, but it's really Jesus

Then they aren't very religious then.
Okay, but they still consider themselves religious, so in this survey the represented religious people.

It's a discussion you idiotit's not going to hurt anyone.

Do regualr discusions contain idiot

This is not only conterintuitive to the holy books of all major religious and everything any priest would say, but if I was god I would be personally insulted that I took the time to create you and you couldn't loving give me an hour of your time you starfish. You are a horrible Christian.

But then again I'm atheist agnostic.

I bet Dkamm is sitting at his house watching this escalate into a flame war with popcorn.

That's the whole point. :3

Don't make it sound so huge, people miss church all the time and are still very religious. Not every single point in the bible is meant to be followed, and that's what atheists get at sometimes. They study the whole bible and seem to pick out the points that aren't even followed anymore. However, a point that IS still believed is that God is forgiving. If you were God, you would be a terrible god.

I got up to go make popcorn and come back and it's 3 pages already.

But I really don't particularly want a war, but a little heated debate never hurt anyone.

In the event that you don't believe me, i'll lock it if it gets out of hand.

Oro does like debates. Not when stuff get's cigarettegy though. On tf2 today, people were spamming "NOPE" and :] and umad?. Damn people that can't take an argument seriously and maturely. Drugs was actually exploding over this one argument we had over MMO's and how he was so pro at them.

But anyway, I'm just rambling.

Thing is, a god, or anything perfect shouldn't really have desire, this includes the desire for people to worship him, and the desire to have ever made people. I still don't understand why god desired to make people according the the Christian myth.

Also, don't you consider the bible the word of god or something?

It's the word of god.
God is forgiving and lenient.
The bible is lenient.

And where is it said that God has no desire?

There is still a hell, according to the bible, and people still go there.
Also, why *would* he have desire?
