Left 4 Dead 1 question

A friend of mine got me L4D1 the other day and i was wondering what the most popular custom maps are and how to install them properly.

that helps a lot but i still don't know what ones are most commonly used

When you select a server, right next to it will be the words "download map" if you dont have it.
