Nobody can truly prevent ANYBODY from posting ANYTHING. Niven isn't breaking a rule, he's not stuffposting and what a thread is about is entirely up to the people who reply, and their posts can be about whatever the poster chooses. There's a difference between preventing a post and taking action on a post that already exists.
