What are they all fighting about anyway? They seem to just get plopped into some random environment with weapons, and they just start beating the stuffing out of each other for no reason.

Why must every game have an explanation for absolutely everything?
Proog:
Redmond and Blutarch Mann are the two sons of Zehpenias Mann, and when he died he split all his land between his sons, who now both own half of the world each.
They are in a constant battle to steal each others land by sending mercenaries.
That's the simple version.
