Here, just to show the differences to clear things up;

I'm pretty sure the damage system in New Vegas is different somehow, compare any NV weapon to it's FO3 counterpart and you'll see that FO3 weapons were more damaging. But none of the differences were that drastic.

I just let Boone carry my Fatman, I'll probably sell mine.
Qwepir:
I used to use Boone after Arcade wouldn't follow me anymore because I completed his personal quest. But then I realized Boone was the hero and I was the sidekick, and I sent him back to Novac. Now I just use ED-E and Lily. I'd love to have a mod or something that brings back RL-3 so I can have 2 robot followers.
