I've been seeing this a few times. Google says feet length in inches. This is correct?

Ever heard of meter system?

It's a system that works around numbers like 10, 100, 1000, etc. etc.

Complicated and hard to convert to, I know.

Metric seems like it'd be easier, but I'm way too used to Imperial (obviously) to bother learning Metric.
