Which is the exact reason I hate Xbox's achievements. Steam's are a few awards that you can compare with your friend's to see how far tehy are, and what cool little things they've done. Xbox makes it a may to show how "good" you are to random people. It's an annoying system only for little kids to brag about how uber-1337 they are.
The forget are you talking about? They're the same exact thing, only the xbox ones include a points-based system. It's not indicative of your level of skill, it's just a number that represents the amount of achievements you have. In-fact, I
rarely hear anyone even mention that number, except when comparing with friends. I like the number because it's just a neat tidbit. It isn't worth anything, but whatever, I just like to see my achievements add up.
