The fun way to do this would be to have a dedicated server with a scripted camera thing to take a screenshot ever couple minutes.

It's supposed to be all taken from one angle.
In real life, timelapses are taken from tall buildings a few blocks away, one picture per day, 10 pictures per second, each timelapse showing about 3 years of footage, about 4 minutes long.
One angle.
Like an exterior.
