I agree with the second part though.

I'll just quote my facepunch stuff, I'm too tired and my gf won't forget off.

--- Quote ---The ending to Fable III was just terrible. It made no loving sense, the whole ending year portion just feels so tacked on. The alcohol decision is loving batstuff. It makes no sense. How is outlawing alcohol evil? How does removing a drink limit cost me money? HOW DOES OUTLAWING ALCOHOL GIVE ME MONEY AAAAAAAAAH IT SHOULD BE THE OTHER WAY AROUND, IT SHOULD COST MONEY TO POLICE IT AND BRING IN REVENUE BY TAXATION.

That isn't even the worst part, good god. If everyone becomes aware that the kingdom will come under siege and we will need all the money we can amass, they wouldn't be making loving demands to use up money, they'd wait until after the attack. That's common loving sense. Are these people handicapped or what? Even your loving brother didn't need to be a gigantic rooster, he could have been like "HEY GUYS WE'RE GONNA BE UNDER ATTACK SO WE NEED ALL THE MONEY WE CAN AMASS TO CREATE A DEFENSE FOR ALBION SO WE DON'T ALL DIE OKAY?"

That whole entire part feels like it was written by a loving child. I literally cannot even believe this game built up to this point. I'm just loving stunned. That was the worst ending imaginable. Even the boss battle was lame as stuff, it was like a 2 minute duel, it wasn't even cool, just mildly annoying.

I'm absolutely stunned at how bad that was. loving wow.

--- Quote ---I have to wonder who wrote the storyline to this game. I really contemplated it, and I figured it out; A child wrote it. Maybe even a toddler.
1. It makes little sense. Some "choices" are an insult to loving common sense.
2. The villain is as absolutely uncreative as it gets. This is the type of "bad guy" I'd imagine when I was 8 years old. Darkness? Really? It's predictable too, he monologues about light and dark. I didn't even need to play the game to guess that.
3. The game assumes you will get attached to the characters, even though they're hollow and boring, and most times irritating. Page is a cunt, Walter is a nuisance and is just god damned annoying, Reaver is a rooster, and they even made John Cleese's character annoying. A+.
4. Logan's character is inconsistent. At the end of the game, he claims he was only "evil" to save everyone, but the game plays him out to actually be evil. There's even an entire cutscene dedicated to conveying this image, and the game loving starts out with conveying the image. That makes no sense, even if he had to enact policies everyone hated and stuff, that doesn't mean he actually needed to be a gigantic richardwad to everyone, including his brother.
5. Some portions of the storyline didn't even need to happen or were overly obscure or made out to be more complicated than they even needed to be. You got all dressed to infiltrate a party, but it skips any sort of espionage or anything interesting. It could have equally been "GO TALK TO REAVER". Why did you even need to "infiltrate" the party? Goddamnit. You walked right the forget into the house anyway, with no security or any resistance, there was no need to play it out like that, she immediately told the loving guy that we were there to break people out. It was stupid.
6. Seems like events are just strung together without any real reason or need.
7. Good/Evil decision making is pointless in this game. There's no physical attributes and the benefits are the same in either direction, they don't really matter and only serve to elicit responses from the AI. They dropped the only inherently interesting thing about a morality system in a game like this.
8. The ending expects you to immediately sympathize with Walter/The Hero, which is stupid. There was no reason for me to care about Walter, he was an irritating character and there was little to no bonding to be done, and very little likeable about whatever character he had.

--- End quote ---

--- Quote ---I understand that Fable is a black/white good and evil game, but this stuff doesn't make sense, you can't just randomly assign morality to decisions like this.

--- End quote ---

Character development was something I talked about briefly, I would touch on it more; That is, that there is almost no character development. Most characters are just dropped in and the storyline expects you to understand who they are and demands you care for them. Like with Elise/Elliot, not even 5 minutes into the game you have to choose whether they live or die. Well who the forget cares? There was hardly an explanation as to who they were, much less anything else. Again, the game automatically expects you to give a rats ass about a character whom you just met and whose persona is as 2D as a character in Twilight. This is applicable to the whole "child wrote this game" scenario.

I'd type more but I'm one step shy of going apestuff on my gf oh my god get off the phone augh

Basically this

I mean the whole darkness thing on the way to aurora actually took me really off guard, it was surprisingly dark (pun intended, but I mean it was quite out of character compared to how upbeat and mostly joke-y the rest of the game is) and honestly it was actually fairly creepy. Quite well done.

Aside from that it does annoy me in a lot of ways. Being good WILL cripple you in some way whereas being an starfish has absolutely no negative repercussions at all - my entire populace is afraid of me and basically all this amounts to is that I get free guild seals every time I walk near one of them. If I'd chosen to be good, I'd need to have literally the whole kingdom in love with me to get free guild seals - assuming of course that love even gets you this - and there's no way to make people love you en masse, it has to be done one at a time. Whereas getting them to be afraid of you and start giving you seals and cash amounts entirely to wantonly slaughtering about ten or fifteen in each town, which takes about ten or fifteen seconds (or less) and after you become king the guards only response is "OH, YOU GOT A BIT OF BLOOD ON YOUR SUIT THERE MILORD. AH, YES THAT WAS IT. VERY GOOD, CARRY ON MILORD"

Of course there is also the fact that the characters have little or no character development - actually, Walter and Ben were the only two who had any and theirs amounted to "I got shut in a cave and now I'm scared of the dark" and "Waah waah they shot the major for conspiring against the throne waah not fair waah" respectively. Reaver is the only character I could give a stuff about because at least he's marginally entertaining from time to time (read: every time he speaks).

Then of course there's the whole "choices influence your appearance" thing. They really don't. I've got five stars in strength and magic and this amounts to... I'm about two pixels wider in each direction and my tattoos glow a little brighter. That's it. The moral choice influence is just the color that your tattoos glow and how much you frown. I liked it much better in fable 1 when I got a set of horns and a huge red loving aura for my wanton slaughter.

Oh, and doesn't Page actually KNOW that Albion is going to come under attack? Like wasn't she present when all that was discussed? Why the forget is she the spokeswoman for us wasting several million gold on the old quarter and making sure people live comfortably if she's aware that spending the gold on that will basically mean that we're all going to die in a year's time? Now I'm all for going out with a bang, and I'd agree with her if she was saying something more along the lines of "We're all gonna die so might as well turn Bowerstone into Vegas and live it up" but she's not saying that at all.

Overall Fable 3 was a massive disappointment.

Agreed entirely except for this part. It wasn't creepy, nor dark. Like I said, this is the type of villain I came up with when playing with action figures when I was 6 or 7. It was dumb and predictable, and Walter and his losing grip on sanity thing was equally handicapped and unconvincing.

Also the very fact that the Crawler had a physical form absolutely destroyed any amount of creepiness he had in the first place.

Nystical:

Is it possible to Pre-Order it for the pc and get the packs?
