Yep, and I'm bumping it than another reason than just bumping, contrary to popular belief:

You'd probably want to use the toolbox weapon stuff for it, though, and it would need some support for the upcoming sapper.

n contrary to the 'controller' this controller forces the players to get closer to the fight and get closer to the danger as you probably cannot control your sentry from the spawnroom anymore.
The model is the same, but i am thinking about changing it.

That line states how the wrangler is less cheaper then the controller (which comes with the sentry mod).
You can use the controller to directly control your sentry from the spawnroom, it is not limited by distance.
However, this doesn't mean the wrangler is limited by distance.
The distance the raycasts can travel is about the same as the laserpointer (one side of the bedroom to the other)!
However, with the wrangler you can't just aim at anything form every place.
To get a good shot with your sentry, you have to get into the open for a bit, thus making you vulnerable.
Not the case with the controller.

tl;dr
The wrangler is not usable when in a well built spawnroom, the controller is.
