China provides cheap labor, and is one of the worlds superpowers, as it were.
China also has a relatively stable economy, and is fairly well off.

North Korea is communist, and many people there are starving, due to famine.
North Korea is also not one of the worlds superpowers, and provides little or no cheap labor.

He meant that in the sense that China sucks in general, basically that it isn't well liked.

What you were doing was straight up stereotyping.  Glenn Beck is actually very intelligent, and you have to watch the show for a week or so without constantly saying "Oh wow this guy is crazy."  You have to at least give it a chance.  People who watch the show aren't stupid.  Bill O'Reilly went to my school, and (not to be a pompous starfish, but) it is the best school in Long Island.  I watch a variety of news sources, mainly CBS and FOX, so I am not biased.  I believe in what Washington believed in, a no party government.  Independent is a much better way to go.
